Fleur-de-lis Round Dining Set … With style & flair … The Fleur-de-lis is a very famous design that’s based around a stylised lily comprised of three petals bound together at their bases. It is perhaps most commonly associated with the former royal arms of France but is sometimes associated as a European iris as well. & when used in the terracotta design of this dining set it dramatically catches & holds the eye perfectly providing a real talking point & a focal piece of any outdoor space. This is also a slight move away from the norm as it has round wooden legs with a superb rustic finish as opposed to the powder coated & galvanised tubular steel usually associated with mosaic furniture. However, the armchairs are made from powder coated & galvanised tubular steel in a simplistic yet slightly contemporary design that compliments the table brilliantly. The whole set is super-easy to maintain with a quick wipe over from a damp cloth. All pieces are very lightweight & the chairs stack for easy storage when not in use. The fitted cushions are made for outdoor use & have a resin fibre sandwich that lets moisture run through making them very quick to dry. The mosaic tabletop is hand finished to very exacting standards by Sacred Earth. Beehive Kilns are used to fire the terracotta tiles for 30-40 days. Wooden moulds are then used to shape the tiles with ‘wire & cut’ methods to a uniform shape. The finished tiles are laid out by hand on a pre-drawn template after being cut to size. Wire mesh & encaustic cement is then used to fix the pattern being made. to complete the design a high quality Penetrating Glaze, (matt finish), or Weather Glaze, (glossy finish), is evenly applied to complete the look.
